Displaced Brown Man with Greb Boots for traction.

Rienzi soared from

Tea leaves in plantations

Crows, pythons, panthers

And sticky heat.

Torn from colonial masters.

To icy driveways

Where no amount of

Canadian Tire traction salt

Would do the trick.

But his kids loved

The toboggan hill

And Mr Dressup

On CKCO.

Dandelions peppering

lawns with silvery fluff.

Santa Claus parades where

Shriners in fez drove

Their little four-wheelers.

And bagpipes wheezed.

Faithful parishioners

singing the Cantata for

Easter at Saint Agnes Church.

“Now thank we all our God

With heart and hands and voices.

Who wondrous things hath wrought…”
