Luke chapter 24

This guy pulls up

As we two walk to Emmaeus.

Not intrusive, courteous

Remains silent.

Allows us to complete our

Venting about horrible

Events in Jerusalem.

And on that bloody Hill

Crucifixion. A cry out for

Relief unheeded.

And now the three days

Have expired.

His precious Promise

Hangs in the air, impotent

Oh we have gotten

To our stopover.

No, Friend Abide with us

Sup with us.

Who knows what might

Start with our Conversation?

The Friend takes the bread

And breaks it

In a familiar fashion…
