Not discipline, not duty
But DESIRE
WINS THE BATTLE
Here with sluggish blood
Scrambled mood
Infected foot.
Diabetes.
My daughter and her guy Steve
Cite the reasons why
I have to take hold.
Not a scold
But a life saving agenda.
Many a talk
Take more walks
Lay off the whites, wheat
And beef, tomato and eggs.
She almost begs
Yet I seem half hearted.
To knock the habits
The overnight snacking
The eat for eat’ s sake
When need is not asking
Knowing full well
That infection, amputation
Blindness pose a real hell.
Use the meter Boy, often.
Record it all.
Last night came forward
The possibility of desire
Fanning the fires of
Cooperation, happy regimen
And BLESSED HEALTH.
Now age 73. Gottabee.
